The celebration is over, the holidays are done and now you are faced with the reality of what is in front of you. You are armed with a promise and you have been encouraged that this year will be different, and full of new things! Now you must take that first step! I know after all of the hype settles, the sound of the voice within starts to chip away at your confident beginning. The ideas and plans that seemed achievable, the unresolved issues that could be fixed, now it’s getting fuzzy and the doubt and fear are creeping in! That first step toward your promise is the hardest! It may involve a move, a job change, a conversation or even a good-bye. Taking the first step is definitely one of the hardest life changing decisions you will ever make. I know, I have been there and am there now. These are the times when absolute TRUST in God is a must! Human reasoning cannot comprehend what our God has in store for us. If we try to figure out HIS ways, we can get in the way of how HE wants to do something. There are times we must literally say, I don’t feel it, see it or understand it but I am going to move forward and trust you God! This first step takes a mature mindset that says God knows best, so I will not lean to my own understanding. Picture this, you are standing on the top of a cliff and God says jump…… You see nothing but only hear HIS command. It is then that you must jump and trust HIS hand is there to catch you! This is where we are….. The first step, the hardest, but the step that will change the course of where you are and where you are going. This new journey is just beginning, and if we will simply step out and take the first step, God will meet us and gird up the weak places in our faith.
